P.X. Farms is a Cambridgeshire based arable farming business.
We have a vacancy for a Grain Store Worker at our 81,000 tonne storage facility in Dry Drayton, Cambridge.
Job Summary
To manage the Grain Stores which includes:
- Operation of grain drier and grain hospital equipment
- Operation and monitoring of temperature cooling fans in stores
- Loading grain in and out using JCB Loadall
- Liaison with grain companies and customers as required
- Responsibility for monitoring and care/repair of Grainstore buildings and ground maintenance (including weekly site inspection)
- Overseeing vermin control provided by external contractor
- Operation of Weighbridge and related computerised record keeping
- Routine stock control and sampling (including disease testing for Hagberg, Mycoxtoxins, proteins and oils) of stored grain and third party samples plus reporting of results
- Working with seasonal casual labour as required
- Assisting other members of the P.X. Farms team when required
Hours of Work
Basic hours Monday to Friday 7:30am until 4:00pm with a 30min unpaid break daily.
For the month of August 7.30am to 7:00pm Monday to Friday. Overtime including weekends will be required during busy periods especially at harvest.
Certificates Preferred
Forklift Rough Terrain
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and email.
Holidays
30 days per year (no holidays can be taken between mid July through to the end of October due to harvest).
